HOMOLOGATION – VALIDATION OF A FOREIGN JUDGMENT IN BRAZIL

The judgment of divorce and division of property, accomplished abroad, of a marriage or stable union, when one of the parties is Brazilian, needs to be validated in Brazil. To validate the judgment in Brazil it is necessary to enter with a process at the Brazilian court, through a lawyer.

 

The documents required are:

 1. Foreign judgment duly apostilled in the country of origin;

 2. Copy of passport;

 3. Address and CPF – Taxpayer number or social security number (EUA), of all the parties;

 4. Power of attorney to the Brazilian lawyer
